Each summer Prairie Ridge unites with other Great Commission Churches and sponsors short-term mission trips. Each of the trips is coordinated with local indigenous churches in the country involved. This summer, a team from Prairie Ridge will travel to Honduras with the good news of Jesus Christ. Read the update on reconstruction after Hurricane Mitch.

More on Honduras...Prairie Ridge Christian Church is very excited to continue our effort and help to the people of Honduras after their devastating hurricane that crippled much of their country. We will be helping to rebuild homes and lives with the help of another organization called, Samaritan's Purse. We will assist family by working right beside them as we, together, offer a labor of love. Come with us for as little as $1,000 that will change your life as well as many, many others!

UPDATE: Ever since Hurricane Mitch devastated Honduras in November 1998, the central government's plodding reconstruction efforts have been greatly surpassed by the activities of some international non-government organizations. Christian churches have presented the best option for reconstruction through self-funded efforts.
     Samaritan's Purse is one of those organizations that funded the Great Commission Ministries (GCM) in Honduras, enabling them to rebuild 3,500 homes. This exciting partnership between Samaritan's Purse and GCM has also focused on evangelism and much-needed medial attention. This project is considered the most successful and complete by the Honduras media, having focused on people and invested over 8 million dollars last year in new homes and other aid.
     More than 20,000 people have professed faith in Jesus Christ as their personal and eternal Savior and 100,000 Bibles have been distributed. Twelve new weekly church services have seen started in rural areas of Honduras. In the wake of such a devastating disaster, a whole nation is hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ!
